Team First Aid level 1 – Continuing training
The annual Team First Aid level 1 continuing training is compulsory for any person holding a diploma whose validity is subject to the holding of First Aid level 1 and wishing to continue to exercise the functions assigned to this specific diploma.

Team First Aid level 2 – Continuing training
Continuing training course is open to any person holding the Team First Aid 2 wishing to update his knowledge and techniques, in order to be able to retain or renew the validity of his diploma for one year and continue in the functions assigned to this specific diploma.

BNSSA recycling
The holder of the B.N.S.S.A. who wishes to extend the validity of his diploma is subject, every five years, to a maintenance check.
Rescue course (100m) to be completed in less than 3 minutes
- Departure from the edge of the basin or a starting point, followed by 25 metres of free surface swimming;
- 2 courses of 25 meters, each comprising 15 meters in complete immersion on a defined path (materialized on the bottom and on the edges), without the candidate taking support;
- a duck dive, followed by the search for a dummy that rests between 1.80 meters and 3.70 meters deep;
- the candidate raises the manikin to the surface, then the trailer for 25 metres, face out of the water.
Assistance to people in difficulty (to be done in shorts and tee shirt)
It involves rescuing a person in an aquatic environment who includes:
- the rescue of a person who simulates a distress situation at least 15 metres away and not more than 25 metres from the edge;
- the victim seizes the rescuer from the front; after clearing the situation, the rescuer transports the victim to the edge safely; during the journey the rescuer reassures the victim;
- the rescuer removes the victim from the water without using ladders or any other equipment;
- After securing the victim, the candidate performs a vital function check and then briefly explains the procedure.

First Aid Instructor – Continuing training
The continuing training is open to any adult, holder of the Prevention & Civic Aid Instructor or the First Aid Instructor up to date of its continuing training and who wishes to have a training activity, a professional, volunteer or voluntary member of a public body or an accredited civil safety association.
It allows to teach the following trainings: Prevention & Civic Aid, Team First Aid 1 & 2 and their continuing training.
Continuing training of trainers is open to a “Prevention & Civic Aid” or “First Aid” instructor who is up to date with his Continuing Training.

SAMN Instructor – Continuing training
The continuing training of Water Rescue in Natural Environment Instructor is open to any Instructor, holder of the diploma up to date of its continuing training and who wishes to have a training activity, a professional, volunteer or voluntary member of a public body or an accredited civil safety association.
It provides a framework for SSAL training and continuing education.
Certificate recycling of Lifeguard profession
The Certificate to Practise the Lifeguard profession is the mandatory review for the lifeguard, every 5 years, in order to update their diploma and skills and to provide adequate guarantees for water rescue and public safety.
The Biarritz Coastal Rescue does not offer this training but works in close collaboration with the Basque Academy of Sport.
